Road To Success

Every day as you wake up and begin operating your commercial motor vehicle, you, as the driver, have a choice to make. You could think of it as standing at the beginning of a fork in the road each morning.

On one side of the road is the choice of safe operation. This means that you choose to start your day off with a thorough pre-trip, you put your seatbelt on before operating the unit, operate within the legal speed limit, practice the SMITH system, monitor your hours of service to verify compliance, and end your day with a thorough post trip. This side of the road leads to less stops at weigh stations because of the company’s safety score, more customer satisfaction , and growth within the company. Growth within the company means more job security for you as the driver.

The other side of the road is the choice to be unsafe. Meaning you choose not to operate in all of the above mentioned safe, legal, and required practices. This side of the road leads to more breakdown events, which in turn means delays in delivery and more downtime for you as the driver. This side of the road leads to citations, accidents, and dangers to yourself and those around you, customer dissatisfaction and frustration, which eventually leads to a decline in freight opportunity. The choice of which side of the road you will choose to operate on is yours alone to make.

The Safety Department, Camera Department, and your Fleet Manager will assist you in identifying which path you are on and talking through how to make the right choices to put you on the path of safe driving. We are not the one that is operating the vehicle though. If you are currently on the unsafe path, you will need to be the one to take the initiative to make the changes to be a safe driver. As a reminder- you are the captain of your ship and are responsible for the safe operation of that ship.

Driver Referrals

Looking to make some extra cash in time for Christmas? You can make an additional $1300 for solo company drivers, and $2600 for Teams! To send in a referral, pull up your Go Driver app, click the “More” button, and select “Refer a Driver”. Then, click
the “+” button and enter your referrals information. Referrals pay out at a rate of $25/week for 12 months for solo drivers, and $50/week for 12 months for teams. To get the full payout, the driver must still be working with us at the time of payment.

Check out our new corporate website!

https://transcolines.com/ We have a great new look with new videos and information. We are working on the company store and it should be open soon!

Did You Know?

Did you know Transco Lines offers more than just 53’ dry van capacity? The sales team has been working on a few unique opportunities that might surprise some people. We’re currently working on a 15-truck dedicated fleet moving bulk tankers in Arkansas (and surrounding states). We also proposed pricing on two large reefer dedicated opportunities within the past month. If there is an opportunity that requires a truck, a specialized trailer or piece of equipment ,TLI has interest. Contact Brett Saddler, Efram Simon, or Sandra Mitchell if you know of any opportunities that may be out there. Ask about our “Get a meeting, Go to Dinner” offer that runs through 2024.

Maintenance & Safety

TLI is in the process of putting 26 new 2025 Freightliner tractors into the fleet to replace higher mileage 2022 units, and there are 4 new Peterbilt tractors that will be delivered and put in service soon!

Did you know that brakes, lights, tires ,and air leaks make up the majority of our roadside violations? This month’s focus – tread depth. Make sure to inspect your tread depth on all tires during your pre-trip. The DOT legal limit for steer tires is 4/32″, and it’s 2/32″ for drive and trailer tires. Stop by any TLI or RTI shop for a tread depth gauge if you do not have one.

Driver Appreciation

Get Ready….. Driver Appreciation Week is right around the corner! We are gearing up for a fun filled week to show our appreciation for all our drivers out there on the road. What should you expect? All locations will have lunch provided to all drivers who can make it through the terminal that week. If you are working hard out there and can’t make it through the terminal, your Fleet Manager will reach out to you with a special option. All drivers will be eligible to win a raffle prize all week long. Raffles will be held multiple times a day with several winners to be announced. Prizes include: Vendor give-a-ways, gift cards, truck wash certificates, and some BIG-ticket items to be announced during the week. More fun and games will be announced in the next few weeks!
